i think tumblr should have a check box when you post things that marks them as “NSFW” and then people can control how those entries appear in their dashboard. i don’t have a problem with NSFW tumblrs or people who maintain tumblrs that are 99% safe but intermittently post raunchy stuff here, but i hate going on tumblr when my mom is sitting nearby and her seeing me looking at dicks...
