Me, GrahamGrafx and the media arts crew in SecondLife before second life was clearly not the metaverse.

I really learned a ton from that experience. Even though nothing was ever really accomplished by our adventures in Second Life, that coupled with reading Snow Crash, gave me a new conceptual understanding of what the metaverse could be. I remember those discussions better then most of my classes.
